Hey all you fellow Kash House fashionistas! Ever wonder what it would be like to move 20 hours away from home all alone? Well that’s exactly what I did. My name is Karina and I am an intern at Kash House boutique. Many would say it is crazy to leave Miami to move to Texas, but I am having the time of my life! I needed some change and Dallas was what I needed. The fashion world is picking up and soon Dallas is going to be a major fashion city!
This move opened my eyes to the world. How everyone is so different and how every state has it’s own style. In Miami people dress up 24/7, and to most people probably look over dressed more than half the time. As my time in Texas has passed, I have learned so much in regards to the fashion world.
For example, Miami is all about the beaches and the club scene. Floridians usually wear some nice shorts, a crop top, and some strappy heels for a day in Miami Beach. Come night time and they switch into a tight skirt and crop top. Miami is a hispanic dominated city. Being able to speak Spanish is a must! The Spanish culture has a major effect on the Miami style. The style can best described as tropical and sexy. There is a lot of tropical prints, because everyday is paradise. Resort wear is our everyday wear. Growing up in Miami my whole life in a way kept me in a little bubble— that is a Spanish culture bubble. In Miami I blend in with everyone there; while in Dallas I stand out a bit more than usual.
Now, I live in Dallas, Texas. The only hispanic food I can easily find is Mexican. I love Mexican food, but oh man do I miss my Cuban food so much. The fashion as I mentioned before is also different. I have found that the 20 year-olds dress more conservative here. A night out in Miami is all about clubbing and dressing to impress, while here it’s more of a bar scene. The bar scene calls for casual yet chic clothing. Dallas has a much more casual appeal to it, but you can still dress up. As I always say “it’s better to be overdressed than undressed.”
At Kash House our customers get a blend of both Dallas and Miami style. I was drawn to their clothing line because of this. Maybe you want to add some spice to your wardrobe and show a little extra skin. Kash House has everything you would need whether you want to cover up or show off. Keep up with Miami Fashion and add you’re own spin to it by mixing it up with some Texas style. Snag one of our dresses and pair it with some fabulous boots. Buy an oversized plaid shirt and pair it with some killer heels. These are just two ways to mix both styles together. Morph them and make it one epic style. I have fallen in love with the Texas style and plan on bringing it back home with me.
